(L. Gallia, France; L. gallus) Discovered spectroscopically by Lecoq de Boisbaudran in 1875. Found as a trace element is diaspore, sphalerite germanite, bauxite and coal. One of the only elements which is a liquid near room temperature besides Hg, Cs and Rb.
